Camera-ready art is a misnomer these days. We removed our process camera a decade or so ago. The term is still used in most print shops today to describe the state of artwork from a customer that needs no design work or adjustments on the part of the art staff. However, if we need to adjust your file, we can, so don’t worry. But do understand that you may have additional art charges and you may need to see a proof.

We can take files from Publisher, Excel, Word, or Power Point. Most current software is capable of making a PDF in the print window of the software. The PDF is usually the most problem free form of camera ready art.  If you have any trouble creating a PDF, download our free print driver. You will see Dogwood Graphics as one of your printer choices and it will automatically send your artwork to us with art and fonts embedded.

Review a few things before you create the final file.

• Double check the dimensions of your document. If we must reduce or enlarge your art to fit the size you’ve requested, it must be proportional.
• All artwork contained in your document should be at least 300 dpi.  Anything less and the image may be blurry, or bitmapped.  Anything “borrowed” from the internet will be only 72 dpi.  The image will look fine on screen, but your finished product may be less than desirable.
• Check your document for spelling and grammar issues.  Then have someone else check it, even if you’ve used the spell check feature of your software.  Then check it again.
